RedHat EL 7.0 Beta
È stato rilasciato RedHat Enterprise Linux 7.0beta. Questa distribuzione segna un punto di rottura abbastanza netto con il passato, soprattutto per quanto riguarda i driver di hardware obsoleti. Vediamo di seguito i driver presenti nella RHEL 6.4 che non sono più presenti a partire dalla 7.0:

La lista è molto lunga e sembra che RedHat punti con la nuova release a dare più stabilità al sistema togliendo supporto ad hardware di “non ultima generazione”; inoltre, il file system predefinito è ora ext4 e ext2 e ext3 vengono considerati come “deprecated”. Sendmail è stato definitivamente soppiantato da postfix.
